The Struggle is Fierce: Embodied creative responses to anti-trans hate

A workshop for trans, nonbinary and gender-nonconforming people

CURRENTLY FREE

Community care is self care! Anti-trans rhetoric and hate is at a historic and unprecedented high, as anti-trans legislation threatens the livelihoods and physical and psychological safety of transgender, nonbinary and gender-nonconforming folk all across the country.

This healing workshop will be a space for TGNCNB people to be in community and build our individual and collective resources as we continue to struggle and fight together. Using the embodied, dialogic and therapeutic Rainbow of Desire Techniques from the Theatre of the Oppressed arsenal, we invite participants to come together to explore and share their experiences of anti-trans oppression, celebrate the vibrancy and fierceness of our communities and develop creative responses to dismantle anti-trans hate. Participants will play, laugh, discuss and discover in a fun and deeply contemplative workshop experience.

As trans and nonbinary practitioners, we have witnessed an increase in fear and trauma experienced by trans people and a stronger need for more opportunities to unpack our experiences of cissexism. We aim to meet that need and provide TGNCNB people and communities with humanizing, creative and embodied practices to process their experiences of cissexism and transphobia and to build community responses to anti-trans hate.

We have worked with people around the world to offer these programs and want to answer this overwhelming and timely need to support our TGNCNB communities as we struggle and fight together. As such we are currently offering this workshop PRO BONO to trans communities. Reach out for more information.
